The Goose Station

For our 5th year anniversary, Karl and I ate at the Goose Station, Fort.  We kinda got lost getting there.  The person who answered their phone didn't give great directions.

The Goose Station, contrary to Karl's belief that their specialty is goose, chicken, fowl etc., is a play on words that epitomize the owners' fondness for the degustacion  experience.  It is ranked the 3rd best restaurant in the country based on the 2011-2012 Miele Guide.

If you have been in Eastwood recently, you may have noticed that Fazoli's has now been changed to Bigoli's.  Not only did they make a major overhaul in their interiors but the company also changed management.

Hakata Ippudo

For our last night in Hong Kong, we ate in Hakata Ippudo.  I saw the name from a local blog I read before and had good reviews so I thought it should be worth a try.



Ippudo opened in 1985 with a 10 person seating capacity.  Its owner, Shigemi Kawahara earned the title of the "Ramen King" after winning 3 consecutive times in a Japanese TV show where ramen experts had to cook ramen.

Just like shawarmas, badminton, Zagu, SLR, etc.,  I believe the yogurt craze is almost dead.

After our dinner in Jozu Kin, Mia wanted some yogurt to call it tonight. (Yes, it's wrong grammar on purpose).

Not 1, not 2 but ALOT to choose from...

It's do it yourself. 4 flavors to choose from and in between the 4 flavors they have twirled flavors (2 flavors that comes out as a flavor).  You have a variety of toppings to choose from too.  It's P20/ounce.  We didn't get alot because I know as soon as it melts, Mia will stop eating it and make me (but mostly Karl) finish it.  We just got plain yogurt with sprinkles (which didn't taste so good anymore).

Jozu Kin Restaurant

Since I was craving for some Japanese or Italian and there weren't really alot to choose from in Ronac Art Center, either Charlie's or Jozu Kin, we opted for the latter.

Va Bene Pasta Deli

Karl and I decided to try Va Bene Pasta Deli in one of our date nights.  We have heard so many people recommending it and telling us to try it that we finally decided to try it out.

We had other plans today, but since our schedule cleared up, we had a random Sunday morning.  We decided to go to Fort.  We originally decided on going to High Street but since we realized they were closed until 11am, we went somewhere else instead.

UCC Park Cafe Express

Remember my craving for ramen that was an epic fail because it was never satisfied?

Last Saturday, Mia and I had a lunch date in UCC Park Cafe Express to check out their ramen.  This branch is supposedly the only UCC branch that had ramen.  For the first time I was happy that the weather was gloomy.  Nothing beats yummy soup on a rainy day!  I was excited.  Haha, ramen dork!

Craft Pub and Grill



What happened that night- in a nutshell

One of my good friends from college visited Manila for a 2 week vacation.  We decided to party hard whatever that means.  We decided to have dinner in Craft Pub and Grill and proceed to Amber afterwards.

Craft Pub and Grill is located in Unit E- The Fort Strip.  It’s the same place where Prince of Jaipur, Embassy and Cuisine were located before (Uy! Signs of aging, wala na sila).  I got there an hour early so I had time to pretend I was not a loser.  Good thing Craft had free wifi BUT I didn’t understand why the waitress had to type the password.  Do they really not share their password or was the password so complicated she had to type it herself?

So the weather did not cooperate...

I was crossing my fingers and toes that the sun would shine but it did not so we opted to stay in the city for the long weekend.

Last night, I requested Karl to take the "dogs" out (That's me and Mia).  Since it was raining, I was craving for some soup, like ramen.  I did not want to go to Ukkokei since that's our default ramen place and I just wanted to try something new.  We have a bad habit of not trying new things that includes restaurants.  Karl and I were trying to ask Mia where she wanted to eat (Yes, we make a 4 year old decide our schedule) and she kept on saying Cibo.  I didn't want to eat there because I knew Mia only wanted to eat there because of her Ahia's new free Cibo umbrella that she wanted to get.

I knew there was a ramen place that opened in Northeast Square, Connecticut but I couldn't put my finger on the name of the restaurant but we went to that compound anyways.  Since that was the first Japanese restaurant I spotted, not counting the Japanese Supermarket/Grocery in the same building, we went inside the restaurant.  Haha. Wrong move.

Sweet Inspirations

Once in awhile, I get cravings for specific food. Mongolian stir fry holds a special place in my heart. I don't know if it's because it reminds me of my college years or I really just like the combination of butter, soy sauce and all the vegetables to make it pass as a healthy meal.

Mongolian food used to be so accessible from my office. It was a stone's throw away and I could just get it when I wanted. Now, I have to go to our Makati office to get some from our canteen there.

Last week, I saw one of my friends on Facebook post a Mongolian meal she was having. My jaw automatically dropped and I couldn't help ask where she was getting her fix. She said it was in the Glorietta foodcourt but she also mentioned I could try Sweet Inspirations. Since the family was going to be in the Katipunan area anyways, we decided to go there and make mommy a happy and satisfied bunny! (Yes, me!)
