Mia's Birthday Weekend Salubong

One of the things Mia requested for her birthday were sky lanterns.  Sky lanterns are believed to be your guide to ancestral spirits.  This was how common folk conveyed their wishes to heaven.  In Mia's world, she saw this in Tangled, and since Rapunzel had them for her birthday, she wanted them too.

Before the sky lantern lighting ceremony, this is what happened during the day:

Yes, nakapose kahit sa carseat. We buckled her after this shot. Relak!

We left Manila around 8am for Clark.  We had breakfast in one of the gas stations in NLEX.  We had to go to a tree planting but since the road was bumpy, I decided to stop in Zoocobia which was the same area as the tree planting and wait for the rest of the group to finish.

Rough road = Grumpy Driver!

Plan B: Zoocobia = FAIL!

Some other time, Mia...

It was not part of the package unlike Paradise Ranch (where the tree planting was).  That's when we decided to go to Nayong Pilipino instead.

After that, we freshened up.  I made Mia take a nap before all the festivities were going to happen in the late afternoon/ night time.  I was able to successfully bid for a hot air balloon ride.  Don't expect much from the ride.  It was just around 3 storeys up for 5 minutes but I still thought it was a good deal.  To think I was thinking of shelling out P2,500 per head last February during the Hot Air Balloon Festival for a ride.  Good things come to those who wait :)

Goofing around. Waiting for the hot air balloon.

Our bids were donated to the Children's Hour

I just thought this was a cute candid photo

Reminds me of Hagibis even though I don't really know how Hagibis looks like

We had dinner in an open field.  We were called out briefly for the sky lantern ceremony.  Finally! What Mia was looking forward to for the whole trip!

Excited to set it on FIRE

Trying to stabilize it before lift off and still look pretty

It was really something...

We ended the  night with performances by 6 cyclemind, Spongecola and Streetbeat.  The whole weekend was a blast.  And I leave you with this picture.

All I was thinking was I read about you on Fashion Pulis!

Back to work tomorrow!  Happy Birthday Mia! Mommy and Daddy love you very very very much!
